Hand warmers for anyone living where temperatures are cool or downright cold: baby socks each with ~1/2 cup any inexpensive rice, tie a knot in the sock, and include a slip of paper with instructions for warming in the microwave. These little gifts are great in pockets or inside mittens and just large enough to fit in the palm of the hand.

Depends on who the stocking is for. For my budding artist Granddaughter, she loves a new box of crayons, colored markers, glue sticks. glitter, stick-on rhinestones and letters, construction paper, etc....almost any art supplies make her day. For my Grandson, it's all about army men, action figures, matchbox cars, and playdough.

For teen and adult ladies, they can always use new nail polish, lip balm or chapstick, their favorite lotion, or even a new pair of earrings or a bracelet. For the guys, maybe a new wallet, a keychain, a compact tool kit, or socks. And almost everyone loves gift cards for their favorite stores.

Starting to brainstorm for 2022!

For adults....Stamps, socks, spices, lottery scratch tickets, and kitchen towels or sponges. No, not fancy, but useful an these were my most favorite gifts for 2021!

For kids...candy, socks, and money...kids are much harder to buy for than adults in my opinion.

Little notes about how much they are loved and why should be everyone's stocking!!

Gift cards are usually appreciated, especially if they are for a business or service they use regularly. In recent years, my teens have gotten Steam, Nintendo or Xbox gift cards. One year, I threw in scratch lottery tickets, which was fun although no one won anything.

I've done socks, gloves and other little accessories. This year, I got items from Uwajimaya, a Japanese/Asian store. They got funny pens, Japanese candy and face masks.

Phone cords are always appreciated. My daughter sometimes gets inexpensive jewelry. And I've often added in little brain teasers or games as they got too old for toys.

I like to give an ornament every year too. I'm collecting them and will give them to them when they are ready to start their family and decorate their own tree. I plan to label and mark every ornament with the year but it was year 22 and I still haven't gotten it done.

And, per my own childhood, every stocking has a satsuma or cutie mandarin orange in the toe. :)

I personally like my stocking stuffers to be mostly candy and other food. These include, oranges, nuts, candy cane tubes of chocolate, candy coal (lol), and any other favorites. Little beauty items can be added for adults, like chapstick, make up, mini lotion bottles, or a manicure set.

And 1-2 inexpensive toys can be added to the kids stockings, like hot wheels cars, fidget toys, or dollar tree items.
