Pasta Christmas Tree

Pasta Christmas Tree - finished pasta tree on a red surfaceThis is a beautiful little centerpiece you can make from dry pasta, a foam cone, and paint. I think it'd be beautiful in any colour, but it really looks quite chic in gold with red accents. The farfalle bowtie pasta sitting on top is a cute little finishing touch.

Total Time: 60 minutes (not including drying time)

Steps:

  1. Start by firmly poking the penne into the bottom of the cone at a slight angle. Make sure the holes are exposed.
  2. Pasta Christmas Tree - stick pasta in cone beginning at the base

  3. Keep making rows above, staggering the pasta.
  4. Pasta Christmas Tree - continue up staggering the pieces

  5. Build your way to the top. Don't crowd the top section because there is less foam to work with, you don't want it to break into bits.
  6. Pasta Christmas Tree - continue to the top but take care not to overcrowd the top
