Oh So Good Gum Drop Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 and 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • Advertisement

  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts ( walnuts or pecans)
  • 1 cup cut up spiced gum drops

Directions

Cream sugars, shortening, eggs and vanilla. Shift flour, salt, and soda together spoon into the creamed mixture and mix well. Add the cut up gum drops and chopped nuts. When mixed, you are ready to drop by spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets and bake in a preheated 350 degree F oven for approximately 15 minutes until lightly browned. Cool and enjoy!

This recipe will make 5 to 6 dozen cookies.

Source: Yum these are the best cookies to make and have on hand during the Holidays. They make a wonderful gift for friends, co workers, and neighbors. This recipe was give to me by a co worker six years ago and they have become a Christmas tradition at my home.
