Make a snowman tag with recycled paint strips.

Approximate Time: 30 minutes

Supplies:

  • wide paint strips in white, brown, red, orange, dark blue, and light blue

  • Elmer's Glue
  • scissors
  • craft paints: white, green
  • fine black permanent marker
  • fine brush
  • holder punch
  • ribbon or strip of fabric

Instructions:

Cut out all parts of snowman.

Place light blue snow on the bottom of tag.

Next place big snowball on the center bottom of light blue snow.

Before placing the middle snowball on the snowman make sure the branches are glued in place first.

Then, place the scarf in place and lastly the head on top of the scarf with its carrot.

Use the fine black permanent marker to draw the two dots for the eyes, the big smile, and the buttons. If it is easier, draw in features with a pencil first.

Using white craft paint make the white dots of snow. Put a little bit of extra snow on branches and nose. Also paint the white lines on the scarf. Let dry. Apply green paint to scarf as shown in photo.

Punch in a hole on top and slide ribbon or a piece of fabric through the hole. Cut out top corners.

This is so cute. I'm going to start right now collecting paint strips and do something like this. Very much like paper piecing, so it should be easy enough. Might have to find some patterns out of children's coloring books.

Really good idea though.
Thank you for sharing it.
