Christmas Assistance for Kids and Needy Family?

How do I find a place that donate's to women with kids? I just got fired from my job due to me having to take off due to my son becoming ill. I have a 1 year old and a 2 year old. I am trying to find place that help with toys or energy assistance. I'm a single mom with no help and am not sure how I'm going to make ends meet or keep a roof over my heads.

Toys 4 Tots, social services, Freecycle and churches can help.

You may want to look into Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). Firing you because you had to take off for your son becoming ill does not seem to be called for.

Christmas Charity Organizations:

  • Salvation Army
  • Toys for Tots
  • Make a Wish Foundation
  • You'll have to research your community, but every community usually has some sort of event hosted during the holidays also! (i.e. local churches, child welfare programs)

Good luck!

Please tap into your local churches, helping others is their mission (or it certainly should be).
Toys for Tots - they often run out of donations so get on their list early!
Contact your electric company or co-op for utility assistance. These funds are always first come first serve, so have paperwork showing your income and expenses when you apply.
Take on a seasonal second job. Even an extra 5-8 hours/week can ease the burden of extra Holiday expenses!
May God's grace provide for you and yours.
