If you are looking at your kids Halloween candy and thinking you really don't want them eating it all. You could consider "borrowing" some of their candy that is not Halloween themed and save it for their Christmas stockings.

I know that this year I overcompensated since they could not go trick or treating and bought way too much candy. We also had a few friends drop off some sweets. When I realized how much they actually had, I snuck some of it out and set it aside in a safe location to use in their stockings.

Some kids are really meticulous about counting and organizing their Halloween haul, so this might not work with them. For the kids that are not, this is a great way to save money on candy during the holiday season.
