Draw a circle 1 and one quarter inches in diameter on a piece of cardboard.
Using it as a template, cut 20 circles from used Christmas cards.
Draw an equilateral triangle with each side measuring 1 inch.
Center the triangle template over the right side of a circle, folding the outside edges upright around the triangle to create flaps. Repeat for the rest of the circles.
To make top dome of ornament, place five circles on a flat surface, right side up, with one point of each triangle facing toward the center. Apply glue to wrong side of flaps and stick together. Repeat for bottom of ornament.
Place remaining 10 circles on a flat surface with points of triangles alternating up and down so as to create a straight line. Glue together the flaps that are touching to make a strip, then glue ends together to make a ring.
Glue top and bottom dome sections to this ring, creating a ball.
Glue loop of ribbon or yarn to center top of ornament.
Apply glitter glue to outside edges of all flaps. If desired, glue a bead at every point where flaps intersect.
