Steps:

  1. The picture below is where I got inspiration to make my ornament. Cut one of the clothespins 1/3 of the length of the clothespin for the baby Jesus using a table saw. Cut a second clothespin an inch or so smaller than the third clothespin for the Mother Mary. Joseph will be the the third clothespin.

  3. Using paint, paint flesh color on the faces of each of the three clothespins. For the clothing, use white paint for the swaddling for baby Jesus, blue (or other color) for Mary's dress, and brown or black for Joseph's robe. Let dry.

  5. Paint the circle shape navy blue for the night sky. Let dry. Using an old toothbrush, dip into white paint and spackle the blue circle to make it look like stars in the background. Glue the three figures onto the circle and let dry. Put a ribbon through the drilled hole at the top to hang on a tree.
