Making a Paper Plate Framed Christmas Decoration

Here is a fun little Christmas project my kids and I worked on together this weekend. You will cut the center out of a paper plate and inside you can decorate with Christmas themed cut out decorations, sort of like a globe or wreath.

- Art made by my daughter
- Foam plate (randomly stumbled upon in our house) cut by my son, star sticker on and all pieces glued by him
- I cut out the house, tree, snowflakes, bow, and handwritten greeting.

Total Time: 30 minutes

  • disposable plate
  • bow
  • pen
  • stickers
  • scrap pieces of construction paper
  • paint/markers/tempera paint
  • scissors
  • glue stick

  1. Have your child create their art. My daughter made this creation with tempera paint and markers.
  2. Cut out a circle from the plate.
  3. Cut art work slightly larger than cut out circle and tape artwork to plate.
  4. Cut out Christmas themed decorations of your choice. I cut out a house and Christmas tree.
  5. Next, my son decided there must be snowflakes so I cut out snowflakes.
  6. Glue everything down. Write greeting and glue down bow. Ready to hang decoration. :)
