How to Make a Paper Table Top Mini Christmas Tree

Supplies:

• 8x8 inch pieces of colored art paper (assorted)
• scissors
• glue

Steps:

1. Fold the paper diagonally. It will form a triangle. Fold one corner of the base toward the center top point. Do the same in the opposite side.

2. Release the fold and make a straight (horizontal) fold. Then fold the corners in to the center. See fold lines

 
3. When you open it will have 8 divisions. See 2nd image to see a clear illustration of the fold marks.

 

 
4. Pull up the four corners to the center. See photo.

 
5. It will create a small diamond with four pleats.

6. Take one pleat and press the fold mark down. It should be centered.

 
7. Do the same with the others and the figure will then form a slim diamond shape. The pleats will be smaller.
8. Remove the bottom part. It should look like a pleated inverted cone.

 
9. Now, make a few small straight cuts on the figure (1/2 to 1 inch). Make sure all the pleats are cut.

 
10. Pull the pleats apart or separate them. Fold the cuts diagonally one by one. Refer to attached photo.

11. Equally distribute the pleats or arrange them to make the pine tree stand.

 
12. Glue a tiny star on top. And make more in different colors.
