Baking Jar Gifts?

Does anyone have recipes for baking cakes/breads in small jars for gifts? I was given this gift one year and it was so good and meant a lot too!

Cocoa Cola Cake Mix In A Jar

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 1/4 Tbsp. cocoa
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1 1/8 cups mini marshmallows

Directions

Layer all ingredients in canning jar

Attach the following card:

Add:

3/4 cup Butter
3/4 cup Cola
1/4 + 1/8 cup Milk
2 Eggs beaten
1 Tsp. Vanilla
Dump jar mix into large bowl set aside. Combine butter and cola in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil.

Pour cola mix over jar cake mix, blending well. Add remaining ingredients.

Pour into 9x13 inch pan and bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees

Coffee Mixes Using Ground Coffee

Chocolate-Almond Coffee
Ingredients
1/3 cup ground coffee
1/4 tsp. freshly ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp. chocolate extract
1/2 tsp. almond extract
1/4 cup almonds, toasted and chopped
Directions
Place coffee and nutmeg in a blender or food processor. With processor running, add extracts. Stop processor and scrape sides of container with a spatula. Process 10 seconds longer. Place mix in a bowl and stir in almonds. Store in refrigerator in an airtight container. To Serve: Place the entire amount of mix into filter of an automatic drip coffee maker; add 6 cups water and brew.

Makes 6 to 8 servings

Chocolate-Mint Coffee
Ingredients
1/3 cup ground coffee
1 tsp. chocolate extract
1/2 tsp. mint extract
1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
Directions

Orange-Cinnamon Coffee
Ingredients
1/3 cup ground coffee
1 T grated orange peel
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
About 5 to 6 inches of cinnamon sticks

Place coffee and orange peel in a blender or food processor. With processor running, add vanilla. Stop processor and scrape sides of container with a spatula. Process 10 seconds longer. Place mix in a bowl and stir in cinnamon sticks. Store in refrigerator in an airtight container.

Buttered Rum Coffee
Ingredients
1/3 cup ground coffee (not instant)
1/4 tsp. freshly ground nutmeg
1-1/4 tsp. rum extract
1/8 tsp. liquid butter flavoring
Directions
Place coffee and nutmeg in a blender or food processor. With processor running, add rum extract and butter flavoring. Stop processor and scrape sides of container with a spatula. Process 10 seconds longer. Store in refrigerator in an airtight container. To Serve: Place the entire amount of mix into filter of an automatic drip coffee maker; add 6 cups water and brew.

Homemade Chocolate and Vanilla Pudding Mix

It's easy to make your own homemade pudding mixes. They cost much less than the commercially made mixes. We freeze this to make homemade fudge pops!
Homemade Chocolate Pudding Mix
Ingredients:
3/4 cup powdered milk
7/8 cup cornstarch, 1 cup minus 2 Tbsp.
1 1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup cocoa powder
1/4 tsp. salt, rounded

Directions:
Combine all the dry ingredients and store in an airtight container. The mix fits in a quart jar.

To prepare:
Add 2/3 cup mix to a saucepan. Add 2 cups milk and stir until blended. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer while stirring constantly until thickened. Cool and serve.

Serving Size : 24

Homemade Vanilla Pudding Mix
Ingredients:
1 1/4 cups powdered milk
1 1/4 cups cornstarch

1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
3/8 tsp. salt

Variations: Leave out the nutmeg and substitute your choice of extract: Almond, Banana, Lemon, Maple or Pineapple or other flavor that you like.

Italian Pasta And Bean Soup Mix

Ingredients
1/2 cup dried pinto beans
1/2 cup dried pink beans
1/2 cup dried kidney beans
1 cup small egg pasta bows
1 tablespoon dried parsley
1 tablespoon instant chicken broth, granules
1 teaspoon dried rosemary
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon dried minced garlic
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
Directions
Place beans into a 3 1/2 cup jar (layer or mix together) with a tight-fitting lid.

Place pasta in a ziplock baggie and place on top of the beans.

Mix remaining ingredients in a small bowl and place in a small ziplock baggie.

Include the following recipe:

Italian Pasta and Bean Soup Mix Directions
Remove pasta and seasoning packets. Rinse beans. Cover with water and soak overnight. Rinse and place in a 5-quart Dutch oven with 8 cups water, 1 can (28-ounces) crushed tomatoes, seasoning packet and 1 cup each of coarsely chopped carrot, celery and onion. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 2 hours or until beans are tender-firm. Uncover, increase heat to medium-low and boil gently for 35 minutes, stirring until soup has thickened slightly. Stir in pasta, increase heat to medium and cook 10 minutes longer or until pasta is tender.

Jello Cookie Mix

Ingredients
1/2 cup sugar
1 (3 oz.) jello, any flavor
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 1/2 cups flour
Directions

Layer ingredients in order given in 1 quart mason jar.

Attach following directions:

1 package mix
3/4 cup oil
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
Mix all ingredients together. Roll into small balls. Place on greased cookie sheet and flatten with fork dipped into sugar.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 7-10 minutes until done, but not browned.

Make Hand Cream As A Gift

A very inexpensive hand cream can be made with this recipe. I never buy any other kind anymore since I have made this. All items can be bought at the $1 store. Mix together with electric mixer, the following.
1 - 15 oz. bottle baby lotion
1 - 8 oz. jar of petroleum jelly
2 - 8 oz. jars of vitamin E cream
Fill clear jars, These make wonderful gifts! I make it for all my friends and they love it!

Mocha Mix

Ingredients
2 1/4 cups non dairy creamer
1 1/2 cups sugar
3/4 cup instant coffee granules
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
Directions
Mix all ingredients together and store in airtight container.

To serve use 1/4 cup of the mix and 1 cup boiling water.

This make a nice jar mix to add to a gift basket.
